Long time, no update.

It's been a very, very busy year for me. Well, me and my alter ego Lola Douglas.

Oh, didn't you know?

Well, it's true.

I AM LOLA DOUGLAS!

Let me tell you a little bit about Lola: she's the author of True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet and its sequel, More Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet. True Confessions was adapted into a movie starring multi-platinum recording artist Joanna “JoJo” Levesque and Golden Globe winner Valerie Bertinelli that premieres on Lifetime Television August 9, 2008, at 9 p.m.

This summer, a Dutch translation of Lola's books were released, and she has (I have?) been getting some pretty colorful e-mails from overseas fans.

At the same time that all of these cool things were happening to Lola (a.k.a. me), I (Lara) was finishing up my next book for Random House. It's called The Sweet Life of Stella Madison, and it's due out July 2009. I was also beginning work on my next Lola novel for Razorbill, which is tentatively titled Forget You and will be out Spring 2010. More details to come ... you know, when I actually have some.

Back to the busy year thing: in addition to the movie stuff, finishing a book and starting another, I did quite a bit of traveling over the past year, both as myself and as Lola. You can imagine how this might get confusing after a while. Especially since all of the really cool stuff happens to Lola, and I am Lara. I'm also Lola, but you know what I mean.

Luckily, I was having no such identity crisis when my boyfriend Joe proposed earlier this month! He is the love of my life and I can't wait to walk down that aisle to him. We're planning a February 2010 wedding, which may seem like a long time from now, but honestly? We've had to change our date three times due to vendors/venues not being available when we wanted them.

So between writing, teaching, speaking, traveling (and now wedding planning!), is it any wonder that I don't have any leftover time to update my web sites?

Even so, I'm making it a goal to be more on top of these things. So, check back regularly to get the goods on both me and Lola!
