Tune in Tuesdays.

So today Tabitha told me I needed to watch Dr. Phil, because Tuesdays are usually the day that Dr. Phil talks to his newest Dr. Phil family and, well, today was a Tuesday. I asked her why she thought I needed to know about the newest Dr. Phil family, and she said, "You'll see." She made this huge production about it, too, making me come over after school to watch it and everything.

So there we are and it's 5 o'clock and here comes Dr. Phil and his Dr. Phil family, and Tabitha starts shrieking and pointing to the screen. Like, I thought she was having a seizure or something, she was acting so freaky. Then she's going, "Don't you see it? Don't you see it?" And I'm all, "See what?"

Turns out she thinks the daughter looks just like me, only with different-colored hair.

And okay - I guess there's a slight resemblance. But this Brianne girl - man, she's had it tough. I mean, she's a little bit younger than me, and already she's had to deal with so much! First of all, her mom's like this totally crazy woman who keeps sleeping around on her third (!) husband. She even got pregnant during one of these affairs and after keeping the baby for six months gave it up for adoption. And then the mom sent another brother of Brianne's off to some farm school for emotionally screwed up kids, to get him straightened out, and now Brianne's all scared that she's next. But then her mom tells her that she's pregnant again, and they want to keep the baby. It's like a soap opera!

Anyway, it made me realize how lucky I am to have the family I do. I mean, yes, they're occasionally boring and yes, they're often embarassing, but my mother would never get rid of my little brother. Trust me - I've tried to convince her otherwise, especially when he was still in his booger-eating phase. (Say it with me now: GROSS!)
