Rain, rain, go away ...
Yesterday there was an actual tornado watch for New Castle. I was worried, cuz Tobin had driven down to Dover to pick up some parts his cousin needed for the garage (T works there part time). But I guess the Weather Channel got it wrong, because after a brief shower it was clear skies and 68 degrees - no tornadoes anywhere, thank you very much.
Today Tabitha loaned me one of her bikinis, because hey - I finally have a little something to fill out the top! We went over to Eagle Glen, because Tab's stepfather recently bought the family a membership to the pool. It was a little chilly out but we weren't there to swim, if you know what I mean. I hate to admit it, but I sort of like it when boys give me the up-down and one of those "I wish I knew you" smiles.
I made the mistake of confessing this to Tabitha, who poked my sunburned shoulder and said, "Lucy, you are so bad!" The rest of the day she kept cracking jokes about me needing to go to skank school, ha ha ha.
Oh! I almost forgot the BIG NEWS: Kim Talbot is throwing a huge party next Friday, a bonfire type of deal, and we are ALL invited. It's sort of weird; she treated us like pariahs (another vocab word from last spring - I'm going to kick butt on the PSATs) before we had boyfriends, but then I started dating Tobin, and Tabitha started dating Spencer, and Allison has dated lots of boys (including a brief fling with J.T., Kim 1's ex, but I don't think she ever found out about it) -
My point is, why do we have to be dating boys to be considered cool in Kim Talbot's world?
Tobin pointed out that if it's Kim who's throwing the party, the odds of Lori Pfefferminz being on the guest list are good. But so what? Am I going to let her keep me from roasting smores with my crew? Bring it, I say. Bring it.
(Did I mention that Allison and I watched Bring It On for, like, the hundreth time last weekend? Us saying "bring it" is the new Tabitha declaring everything "hot.")
WE ARE SO LAME.
